Work Experience Summary: September 07 • Current: IT Support Technician
This role involves supporting many small & medium sized businesses providing a comprehensive IT support service, including troubleshooting a wide range of problems across the network, supplying and installing hardware as well as the installation and configuration of a wide range of software.
This is a small company and the role requires me to take responsibility for liaising directly with clients to log faults, manage the priorities of work around SLA commitments and manage the interface to the customers.
During my time working at this company I have been developing new services and ways to provide an improved support system. An example of this was my research and development on a new service that we are now providing to clients which is an offsite backup & disaster recovery solution. I also setup an online support system to allow a higher level of communication between support staff and clients.
I currently support around about 200 computers consisting of desktops as well as laptops for remote workers and about 25 servers running Windows Server and VMware ESXi.
