My passion lies in print work, photography, drawing, painting and 3D. My portfolio pages showcase the numerous projects I have worked on over the years.
For the past 12 years I have enjoyed a successful career at the London based company Dennis Publishing Ltd. I joined Dennis in 2003 as a designer and made enough of an impression to win the Employee of the Year award, just one year later, in 2004. Since 2007, as the Creative Design Manager, I have headed up the Marketing Design team, overseeing 5 designers. Our primary role it is to offer digital and print design support to the Subscriptions and Direct Marketing teams for campaign work across the entire Dennis portfolio. Some of the well-known Dennis titles include The Week, Cyclist, PC Pro Computer Active, Men’s Fitness, evo and others.
I find my role as Creative Design Manager incredibly rewarding and it certainly puts to use all of my design skills as well as leadership, logical thinking, problem solving and organisation to run the department.
Beyond my day job I also work many additional hours as a freelance designer. After working together on the first book together for Felix Dennis in 2007, he subsequently requested for me personally to design seven further books all of which I am incredibly proud. Additionally I produced events graphics and promotional pieces for Felix’s stage performances of his poetry. Since April 2015 I have also regularly been producing design work for the charity, the Heart of England Forest. Among other creative endeavours and outlets my big passion is photography. I find that it helps me to focus my mind to observe and capture things that inspire me.
A brief history of my career before Dennis: I began my career as a prop maker and mask maker for Trestle Theatre Company. I was employed to create bespoke masks for their highly original shows and also produed masks for clients such as the Globe Theatre, Grange Hill Deloitte & Touche and The National Portrait Gallery. Additionly I also created workshop mask sets for use in Trestle’s arts education programme.
I also worked at Kall Kwik printers which gave me a solid background in a fast-paced high street design print bureau with restrictions of tight budgets. I then went on to work at the very creative Shoreditch Agency Steve Edge Design where I expanded my creativity and design skills to produce work for high end clients such as Fortnum & Masons, Purdeys, Marks & Spencer, Cecconis and Locanda Locatelli.
