Having worked in the fashion industry for a year, under designers such as Alexander McQueen and Amanda Wakeley I have cut my teeth with some big names and learnt the value of hard work, ambition and determination. The choice to follow the journalism route came from my need to analyse subjects and ability to pick out the best parts of a story. Always on the search for things that are fresh and new, I am overflowing with ideas. A background in design means that I also have strong aesthetic sensibilities and see ideas in terms of visuals as well as text. This holistic approach allows me to come up with ideas that are cohesive as a single article as well as in the context of the entire magazine or website. The practical side of my nature makes me a great proofreader with an exceptional eye for detail and an understanding that although creativity is extremely important, functionality and viability are also paramount. I can meet deadlines and write extremely clean copy. I have experience copywriting for websites and can write both short and long articles and descriptions for print and online. I have experience using CMS. I have been involved in book publishing and editing. Most importantly, I have the energy and dedication that comes from loving what I do.
