Work Experience Summary: Assistant Compositor. Involved working on the feature production Gallowwalkers’, Chase Imagination was tasked to create four 2D animated sequences that would be used within the live action footage. As assistant compositor I was responsible for compositing one entire sequence working to a tight deadline of 8 to 10 scenes a day which would be rendered out as Rushes to be cleared by the director and producers. Compositing consisted of putting together the backgrounds and 2D animation, adding effects and simple camera moves. Also responsible for putting together scenes for other sequences which would then be completed by the senior compositors. At the end of the project I was kept on board to retouch scenes, add new backgrounds, change camera moves and add/remove effects. Throughout the production I worked closely with both the animators, senior compositors, editor and the director. All compositing was completed in Adobe After Effects to a preset VFX workflow and to tight schedule.
2D Animator. This job entailed animating silhouette-style characters for the music promo Azrock and Pogo’. The characters were created in Illustrator and imported into Flash and After Effects to be animated and composited into scenes.
Five projects completed to date. Projects were completed using various software packages such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator. The projects have been lo/no paid however have gained invaluable industry exposure including in relation to working to client briefs, set deadlines and most importantly communicating with the client.
