I spent a couple years on phone support, another couple as a test-bed creator for quality assurance, another on a configuration management team (source control, build management, and installations), then the last four validating my skills as a programmer and architect.
Having been an integral part in each of those teams I know I bring to the table a unique background that allows me to see the forest for the trees by default. I leverage this experience to arrive at solutions quicker and with high quality.
The typical IT mission is to service the business's needs as they require, from hardware to software and everything in between. It's my mission to go beyond that. Not to just keep the lights on, but to work with the business to help them understand what IT is capable of; showing how our work lives can be made easier and more efficient, thus allowing us to focus on innovation rather than reacting to the latest fire.
This is the passion that drives me forward.
