I learned to love and devote myself to the job. As years passed by, my editing and writing skills progressed. I've experienced editing manuscripts both (in-house and freelance) that are not yet out of the market, but still on the process of proofreading, book designing, etc. This job satisfies me not only financially but also it contributed to the development of my overall skills. I may not see my name on my previous edited books published, at least I know within myself that the authors or writers themselves had accepted my editing recommendations. I am exposed to The Chicago Manual of Style of editing. I have experienced editing books ranging from different genres, - book that are at least 20,000 words to more than 150,000 words.
I also edit TOEFL, IELTS and EIKEN essays of Japanese students as one of my freelance jobs. I am one of the editors of a Japanese agency that accepts international exam preparations, wherein my Japanese friend works there as a staff and forwards me some tasks for edit.
Aside from editing and proofreading, I also experienced writing descriptions for social bookmarking sites and directory sites, one of it is DMOZ. I gained this experience through my job in a famous British SEO company. They required me to produce at least 3,500 words as my daily quota. These descriptions were published in social bookmarking and directory sites.
Part of my task in the SEO company is link insertions. My task here is to insert client links in articles.
Lastly, I also write articles for websites. These articles range from short to lengthy articles, depending on the client's needs.
