Area Covered: Website Application Design and Development
Work Experience Summary: I am passionate about all things web. My ambition is to further my understanding of different development methodologies , strategies and standards to eventually make a move into project management. My main interests lie within web site and application design and development, as well as aspects related to application accessibility and usability. I am currently working as part of a development team to implement a heavily customised VLE (BlackBoard). Primarily my role is based upon designing and developing a number of themes that can be used across multiple user groups within a three-tier, MVC architecture. Custom module design and development set by specification also plays a major part within my work, this involves; understanding what the stakeholder wants, identify the end user, determine if there vision is achievable with the time and resources available and also relay any recommendations I can make. Other projects that I have worked on in my current role is the re-theming of a Serco Application for parent portal from its vanilla theme to match the brand that has been developed for the VLE. Future projects that I will be working include the re-development of the public website and continual development of the VLE.
