Work Experience Summary: Nokia
Software Engineer • Placement Year
Spent 15 months working for Nokia in Series 40 Camera Software development group who are responsible for the development of the camera. 6 months spent within the development team working in a real time embedded C and Linux environment fixing errors and developing a test server, responsible insuring requirements, design and testing standards were adhered to. Second period worked for the test team developing test tools and working on the camera test application. These were developed in C# using Visual Studio. This period included carrying out release testing on new and unreleased phones. Used Windows Workflow to develop structured testing and replace manual tests with automated tests. Responsible for training and mentoring new placement students with the Nokia software, this included giving presentations, organising workshops and providing support. Gained experience in a high pressure development environment with hands on exposure to object oriented methodology and a range of developer tools.
Software Testing Engineer • Summer Placement
Whilst at Nokia I worked with the Trident team. The main task was error hunting (this involved finding errors in unreleased phones) and testing (automatic and manual) on current, new and unreleased phones. Developed an application to test a phone radio using Microsoft C# and the Trident Test Framework.
