Description: Reviewed, evaluated, and analyzed Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) systems, programs (i.e., Fire Protection), and events (i.e., Station Blackout) for Measurement Uncertainty Recapture (MUR) Power Uprate. Revised and checked calculations and design criteria to reflect power uprate conditions. Coordinated the overall Bechtel effort for power uprate with other disciplines, the client, and the NSSS vendor (Westinghouse). Provided technical responses to NRC’s Request For Additional Information (RAI). Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for various Design Change Packages (DCPs) for nuclear systems, components, and structures for both PWR and Boiling Water Reactors (BWR). Responsible for managing DCPs schedule, budget, technical quality, and coordinating the overall design effort among involved engineering disciplines, the client, and equipment suppliers. Originated and reviewed calculations in support of DCPs for both, PWR and BWR. Originated and reviewed 10CFR50.59 screenings and Applicability Determinations (which are used to determine other applicable regulations not covered under 10CFR50.59). Applied knowledge of engineering codes and standards (i.e., ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code) to DCPs, specifications, calculations and engineering drawings. Assisted the Engineering Group Supervisor with managerial duties such as work assignments, bids/proposals, external communications, training, time cards approval, and personnel supervision. Ensured designs complied with applicable NRC regulations and accepted engineering methods and practices. Modified HVAC calculations (heat load, fan sizing). Participated in HVAC design for Liquid Radwaste System.
