Work Experience Summary: Events Co-ordinator, PapaKata Ltd, April 2009 - November 2009
As Events Co-ordinator I was wholly responsible for end-to-end planning of Festivals, Weddings, Corporate and TV events. My main role was to ensure we had effective client liaison, to guarantee their event ran as smoothly as possible. I was involved with the process from the first phone call to the day of the event. That included quotations, bookings, third party supplier bookings, venue liaison, staff management, site visits, financials, all general administration, spreadsheet management and weekly meeting planning. I also took time to make sure that the company was receiving coverage in the media, helping to organise all marketing necessary. Alongside this I was also PA to the Directors. That included expenses, hotel booking, travel planning, office management, site visit packs/job packs, and personal administration.
Training Team Organiser and PA, Jarvis Rail, September - Nov 2008
In this role I reported directly to senior management; worked independently on a daily basis, and managed comprehensive day-to-day office operations. I co-ordinated department work schedules and managed nine Rail Trainers, their workloads, travel, after-course work and also audited all their work to ensure they were compliant with all national training procedures. I maintained all computer systems and confidential records of all staff at Jarvis Rail. I set up agendas and minuted all departmental meetings. I often had to create databases and reports on the training department.
While working at Jarvis I implemented an electronic database of all Rail Staff records, and rolled out a new organisational method for new courses. I was also PA to the Head of National Rail Training, and the Training and Development Manager. I was made redundant from this role at the end of November.
Administration and Research Assistant, September 2001 - September 2008:
For 6 years I worked as a PA and Research assistant for the family company, Historic Buildings Archaeology. My work involved all office administration and national and international organisation, phone work, computer work, and travelling to archives in Nottingham and Durham to research Building Documents. This role required high levels of detail to be undertaken. We would use this information to deliver reports to contracting companies and individual clients. Most of the work we did involved British areas and buildings, although we also worked on international projects in Abu Dhabi, Estonia and Belgium. While I worked at CPP (below) I continued to work with this company part-time and on weekends.
Customer Services and Administration, Card Protection Plan,
April 2004 - June 2006
My responsibilities at CPP as Customer Service Representative were to answer calls from our customers and update the database accordingly. This included emergency loss reports, which meant I had to work accurately and quickly in order to prevent fraud. In quieter moments, I completed outstanding data entry and general office tasks. Good teamwork was essential as we had individual and team targets to achieve. I developed excellent telephone and computing skills, and the role helped me learn how to deal with occasionally difficult situations. I adhered to the company\'s strict security guidelines, the Financial Services Authority, and the Data Protection Act.
