Due to the success of this brief I was asked to design the McMillan School of Teaching and Healthcare’s prospectus for 2011.
As I am a keen team worker I also contibuted to a project which involved the charity Artworks. Working with homeless people within the Bradford community I helped to train them over a series of 8 months to work with the Adobe creative suite in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign to create a series of photographs and billboard designs which would raise awareness of the stereotypes surrounding homelessness. Throughout a series of sessions I offered my skills and knowledge to teach the homeless people to achieve their creative visions by expressing their ideas through the software. By helping to train the homeless I had to adapt my knowledge into an understanding manner & conduct myself clearly and present myself well. The project was documented by Channel 5 and also the Community channel. This lead to a design of my own being selected and produced as a full size billboard which was erected in a prime location in Bradford city centre, this was featured in the Telegraph and Argus Newspaper. Working closely with the charity allowed me to form relationships with the organisers and I later designed a full 20 page editorial magazine for the charity Hidden Voices which has now been printed and over 2,000 copies have been distributed across Yorkshire.
I have also worked with other clients such as Bradford council to help raise awareness of their Alcohol and Drugs awareness weeks 2010, and also a competition from Hallmark Cards which saw my e card design be displayed on ‘The Big Screen’ in Bradfords centinery square.
I work primarily as a graphic designer and photographer but I also have well developed and practised skills in typography, collage,
printmaking and editorial design and branding.
