My approach to researching articles allows me to quickly grasp the central tenets of a topic and any associated issues. I can engage the reader, deliver information concisely, and, if required, encourage reflection or debate. I manage my own time effectively and am comfortable meeting demanding deadlines.
My twitter biography describes me as ‘a writer who is beginning to write’. With a CV that is best described as eclectic, I have (in no particular order) managed numerous bookshops, completed a law degree, delivered smoking cessation courses to hundreds of people, qualified in psychotherapy, designed and run relationship enrichment programmes and inspected early years settings for the government. All of this has been an aside to my long-held ambitions to 1) be a mum and 2) make a living from writing. Now, as a writer producing content and a topical weekly blog for the Mum Network websites, and author of the increasing popular blog entitled ‘Not Different But Interesting’, I am flexing my writing muscles with a view to redirecting my career.
With an understanding of the principles of SEO and audience engagement, I have quickly established myself as a writer of entertaining, informative and concise content. Recent examples of my work include;

Having often been home based, I am skilled at effective personal time management. For example, working as an inspector required not only the inspection visit to be completed and the report to be written in a timely fashion. The role also required the completion of a range of pre and post inspection tasks in strict order. As both a public sector and charitable sector employee, I have often been called upon to focus on achieving the best outcome while being mindful of limited resources. Thus I am used to approaching tasks with economy and efficiency as guiding principles. Having frequently worked on a consultancy or self-employed basis, I am at ease managing my own administrative tasks. Supporting my husband’s small business gives me great insight into the variety of tasks that require completion when working independently.
