Job Title: Senior Freelance Lingerie Designer

Description: Reporting to the Head of Womenswear, UK and Head of Buying for Essentials, Central Europe ~
Provide creative direction for Lingerie and Nightwear; researching and developing the seasonal colour and also key style, silhouette and print direction as well as information on product and material innovation ~
Responsible for building the colour palettes for the season and co-ordinating with the Buying teams to establish the colour phasing through the season ~
Delivering trend presentations to UK and CE Buying teams and relevant Heads of Buying and Design as well as within Strategy meetings to the Director of Merchandising and Director of Buying for Tesco Clothing Central Europe ~
Creating range inspiration and direction as well as designing specific ranges for Core and Co-ordinates ~
Producing CADs and technical drawings to compile detailed Design Briefs ~
Sourcing fabrics and trims both independently through professional network and also in conjunction with Tesco Hubs and manufacturers in Turkey and the Far East ~

Description: Worked within the design team to research, collate and build both global and brand specific trends and the divisional colour palette each season ~ Delivered trend presentations to the Head of Design, Buying and Merchandising; as well delivering product presentations within range reviews to the Divisional Trading Director ~ Individually responsible for the design, colour and print direction for Presence, Red Herring and Ultimate ~ Worked alongside the in house Print Designers to create both new print directions and develop original artwork ~ Attended and participated in fit sessions as part of the product development process ~ Worked closely with my Buying and Merchandising teams on the phasing of both continuity and new product. ~ Continually used CAD to communicate design concepts and compile highly detailed tech packs for product briefings to our garment suppliers ~ Constantly maintained and built strong links with UK and Far East suppliers and a wide range of fabric and trims suppliers. Description: Combining and balancing both creative and technical design within my role I developed products both the UK and US market for customers including Marks and Spencer, Abercrombie and Fitch (Gilly Hicks) and GAP. I was the sole technical designer on the GAP account ~ Liaised with the Costing Department, Product Developer (line manager), Fabric Technologists and Garment Technologists; to develop and manage products through to production ~ Interpreted design tech packs to create first patterns and worked alongside sample machinists to develop product samples; having an innovative approach to resolving sometimes challenging garment make up issues, by means that were both viable in production and cost effective. Worked with both cut and sew as well as moulded bra product ~ Managed the fit development of product, both in person and via tech packs within the UK and US for various customers. Feeding back to various Far East manufactures on a daily basis.

Description: A technical placement, with a fellow graduate, to develop internal training material for the company reporting directly to the CEO ~ Researched and produced an interactive internal reference document to inform and educate staff on defining garment shape, fit, measuring and terminology across their customer base which included Victoria Secret, Calvin Klein, NEXT, Debenhams and Marks and Spencer ~ Delivered the presentation of the final resource material at Ace Style offices to selected senior staff in Hong Kong, China, New York and London ~ Whilst in Hong Kong and China we visited multiple manufacturing plants, viewing garment development through to packaging and shipment.
