I am a travel writer and a translator, primarily working from French into English. I am fully bilingual. I hold a BA Hons in English from Cambridge University (2:1, obtained 2002) and a Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguists (obtained in 2006 with 2 Distinctions) as well as having undertaken a Chapterhouse Proofreading course.
In terms of translation, my specific area of expertise is in the technical aspect of live events, theatre and conferencing. I also have experience in the fields of literary texts, travel, photography, outdoor activities (most specifically watersports, climbing & equestrianism). General documents are of course also considered.
In terms of travel writing I have worked on several occasions for Rough Guides, re-writing and updating guidebooks to Hong Kong, Macau, Indonesia, Scotland, Northern England and Southern France. I also maintained a popular blog during a 4-month tour of Eastern Europe.
I am reliable and used to working to deadlines.
