I am looking for opportunities that will further my knowledge, expand my experiences and develop my career as well as my personality.
I consider myself to be a creative, independent and trustworthy individual. I am self-motivated as I enjoy the visual creativity and the design process. I have a keen interest in the latest technological developments in design software. My extensive knowledge of the software I use allows me to work quickly and efficiently, while continuing to produce quality work. I think technically and am able to learn new applications quickly. I am open minded and capable of working efficiently on my own initiative or as part of a design team, with respect for others ideas and ways of working. I like to use different techniques to vary my artwork styles, and I love the versatility this gives my work. I enjoy to hand paint and draw artworks and prints as well as using solely CAD
I am experienced in both CAD and garment design, which gives me an invaluable knowledge of the design process from different perspectives; it also enables me to be flexible and multi skilled within my work.
As well as my Design Work, I enjoy being outdoors and being active, especially in the snow! Being born in Finland has given me a deep-rooted love for snowy surroundings! I am a qualified Ski and Snowboard Instructor, which is a job I do secondary to my freelance design work. I also enjoy Surfing and Wakeboarding, and I try to get to the UK coast as often as I can! Never one to be put off by the weather, or the North Sea in January! My other interests include crafting and being creative, whether that means making cards and little gifts for friends and family, or helping out with ‘that special outfit’. I like to be inspired by what I find around me whatever I’m doing.

Job Title: Freelance Graphic Designer
Description: I have been working on freelance projects now for the passed 2 years. I work mainly for M&S directly, on the childrens nightwear and underwear department, and also for various other UK retailers through continued freelance work for Poppys Knitwear. I currently work remotely from my laptop communicating and sending files via email. I find I am able to manage my time effectively to keep to the deadlines of my clients.
I have also worked on various private wedding stationary projects, liaising closely with the clients to produce their perfect product.
Job Title: UK Head Designer
Company: Poppys Knitwear International
Description: I was employed to run the design side of UK operations. As a design team, the Sales Manager from Cuthberts and myself were recommended to Poppys Knitwear by M&S and we were taken on to expand the UK business and approach new customers to grow the Poppys client base.
I was responsible for producing both graphics and garment design, across a wide range jersey products, covering baby and childrenswear, mens and womenswear. Our main customer was M&S, and we were always looking for new ways to expand into other areas of the business and contacting new departments.
As well as looking after our existing business we were also constantly looking to take on new customers. As a supplier we were very proactive and creative in presenting new ideas to our customers, a large part of my job was researching trends and presenting concept and trend based artwork boards to the customer. I also attended meetings to follow the design process through, and to discuss and adapt designs to the customers needs. This gave me a wide scope for diverse graphic styles and allowed me to experiment with different handwritings.
I was based at home during my time at Poppys, which really helped me to develop my self-motivation and my personal organisational skills. It was excellent training for me to later enter the world of freelance, and to be able to successfully become self-employed.

Job Title: Designer
Company: Crystal Martin International
Description: My first position in Crystal Martin was a babywear designer for the Mothercare department. My main responsibility in this role was to oversee a new company range for the Mothercare Gift Shop. I headed meetings with buyers and was the main designer on the project. The designing of the range called for a lot of problem solving and product development. I had a lot of contact with the overseas factories as the products had many components from different suppliers. It was a great experience to see the range develop right through from the initial design process to store launch.
From this I moved onto the childrens nightwear and underwear department, where I gained in-depth technical knowledge of garment make-up and pattern cutting.
