I have experience of working in-house, with an agency and for printing companies. I have recently worked as a freelance designer on a rebranding project for a Bath based company. This involved designing a new logo and producing a product catalogue and a smaller brochure along with large banners for an exhibition they are attending. I was also involved in their website design on consultative basis. I have also produced branding and logos for other companies
I am passionate about design; the best part of the job for me is working through the initial brief and engrossing myself in a clients company to really understand what they want and then presenting them with the design.
I am fluent in many design programmes, including, Quark, In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional and have added Dreamweaver and Flash (CS3) more recently as a result of working as a website administrator. I have experience of using other programmes including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Sage.
During my career I have worked on many different types of collateral, including business and personal stationery, magazines, newsletters, brochures, catalogues, flyers and others; all prepared for print. More recently I have worked on web based/digital projects. I have a fair understanding of HTML and CSS, and have also used content management systems including Adobe Contribute.
I have experience of working as a creative designer with a small agency; and contributed to the creative element, from concept to finished product. This incorporated following brand guidelines to produce different kinds of marketing material for corporate clients.
Marketing and PR are among my skills, and have enjoyed success with digital and printed promotions,
from identifying possible markets and customers; to creating and managing a database and then using that information to develop new business. Also tracking the progress of the campaign and adjusting certain elements, to make it more successful. I have also worked on flyers to promote business using DM and variable print.

Education Summary: I started out training to be a Paste upPre-press artist for a printing company in South Wales when I left school at 16. I learned the basic principals involved in designing for print.
I worked in the printing industry for about 5 years. After which I did a 2 year B\'Tec course in general Art & Design. I then went on to do a degree in Ceramics at Camberwell college of art.
After the course had ended my partner and I moved out of London to begin a family. When my boys were old enough I went back to work as a designer, but found that the industry had changed beyond all recognition and had to relearn all the skills.
Im now pleased to say that I have a considerable amount of experience and understand all the processes involved in designing for print.
