I can research a wide range of subjects or work from raw material to produce compelling, accurate copy which supports tactical and strategic marketing communications campaigns.
Having edited a regional business magazine, I also have the project management skills to deliver complex communications solutions.
As for my writing skills, I am a published author of a sporting history which received excellent reviews and am close to finishing a second volume of 80,000 words
Area Covered: Bristol, West of England, South West
Work Experience Summary: I began my career as a journalist. After specialising in sport and undertaking a number of overseas assignments, including Olympics and international rugby union, I progressed to IT/editorial training manager and then Business Editor. On being awarded a degree in Law after four years’ part-time study, I joined a PR agency as a senior consultant although I have continued to write as a freelance journalist in my spare time.
Being happy to operate both strategically and in a hands-on’ role, I have won awards for communications campaigns across the public and private sector delivering publications projects and creative/copy writing services as well as stakeholder and media relations, project and event management. I have worked with a number of longstanding clients, who have retained my services for as long as ten years. As well as being a leader and mentor, I draw on a diverse network of contacts in the media and in business.
Education Summary: Bristol Business School, University of the West of England, (1991-96) • Bachelor of Laws (Honours).
