I was responsible for a full portfolio of events from Product Launches, business seminars, award dinners, corporate hospitality – event fashion shows. As Producer I was expected to design the creative brief, negotiate contracts with venues and external suppliers, ensure the clients brief is met, and manage the budget. Part of this was to take care of all delegate management, invites, replies, travel and accommodation. For the actual events I prepared speaker support material, developed the programme and hired in all relevant technical equipment – lighting, staging, sound etc.
I left British Airways to move to Thatcham and then continued in Events Management on a freelance basis. Predominantly this was working for a Technical Production Company. For long term contracts I was brought in to assist with logistics on large events, for example I worked for a year on a Bausch and Lomb symposium in Monaco for 2000 delegates. Alternatively I was booked just to work on-site at specific events as floor manager or show caller.
I did also have several direct clients, for whom I managed their annual conferences e.g. CGNU and Prontaprint.
For the past 16 months I have been working part time for a new Production Company . It’s a small company and I was brought in to help introduce new clients and to work on creative pitches for new business.
Area Covered: Berkshire based, but will travel to meetings and events where ever is necessary
