I am also involved, in a voluntary capacity, as marketing manager for a small charity committee and as PR, Marketing and Social Media Manager to Barnet Museum. I have recently been appointed an Ambassador for Meningitis Research Foundation (voluntary). Latterly, I was contracted as EMEA database manager to BEA Systems and previously employed as UK marketing communications manager for Softlab, a BMW Company.

Summary: Latterly my main focus has been copy writing for a commercial property website but this has now extended to copy for various other sites including articles on travel, education, sleep issues, health matters, architecture, literature and more. Previously I worked freelance for BEA Systems, first on EMEA event management and PR and for then for 5 years as sole manager of the 250,000 EMEA marketing contacts within their live online database, importing, segmenting, extracting, updating and deduping data. My experience prior to that was as Northern Europe Marketing Manager for Softlab where I covered the entire Mar Comms spectrum from event management to PR, collateral production etc.

Company: Circle of Eight Charity Committee
Description: The Circle of Eight is a small committee of ladies, founded in 2004 with the sole intention of raising money for charities which don't necessarily have the profile or resources to attract outside support and for charities that particularly touch our hearts. Since we have been in operation we have raised in excess of £115,000 for various causes including Children with Cancer, The Stroke Association, Everyman, SENSE (for people with deafblindness and associated disabilities), Chai Cancer Care, Meningitis Research Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Action and Treehouse (the national centre for autism).
As well as shared responsibility for event management from psychic evenings to motivational dinners, my role involves managing our contact database, writing, designing and printing all marketing materials including emails, flyers, posters, tickets, brochures, letters etc. I manage email marketing and registration for each event. I also write press releases and deal with all aspects of PR for the committee.
