Working as Head of Engineering and Manufacturing at a specialist college, I have cascaded knowledge of advanced engineering methodology to students and staff. Responsible for developing new Schemes of Work, I have created resources based on microcontroller based cars and automated manufacturing methods.
Working as Representative for the SolidWorks Corporation I worked closely with UK MDs, FDs and design staff, to successfully implement enhanced product to market methods, reduce the development lifecycle using finite element analysis, fluid dynamics, and optical simulation for medium and large manufacturing companies.
Conducting consultancy work for Fusion, the fastest growing VAR for SolidWorks in the UK, I produced simulations, componentry, and other design work for companies. I have trained with SolidWorks in the USA and have made extensive travel in the UK and abroad to Holland, Switzerland, Germany & USA during my employ at companies, attending conferences, meetings and product presentations.
Working in a design/engineering role in medium to multinational companies I produced retail products including electrical consumer products, lighting control, kitchen products, enclosures, production/quality testing jigs. Products I have designed are on board the Queen Mary II liner, on sale in B&Q, CEF and other major UK retail outlets.
As a freelance consultant I have designed, automotive components, injection mouldings, hydraulic machines, and consumer products on behalf of small business.
- A good communicator, with an ability to organise and motivate and train others.
- Taking a Design Brief to a feasible outcome, and have evidence of work from mould tool design to packaging creation, and even creating POS stands and demo cases.
- Providing presentations in both sales, design and teaching / support roles.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing methods, and a keen interest in this area.
- Workshop skills utilising workshop machinery, CNC and building prototypes.
- Creative and cost conscious approach to problem solving. Working to ISO Standards. Interacting with people with a wide range of backgrounds & working beyond my specified job role to produce outstanding results.
