I am an experienced full-time freelance proofreader, editor, and publication design and layout specialist - and have particular experience with non fiction publications mostly in the development field working with NGOs and international organizations. I have strong skills in content verification particularly in the African context.
I have a background in geography with an emphasis in Africa and Asia (BA (hons) from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University) and Geographic Information Science (MSc (Merit) Birkbeck College, London University). I have also successfully completed the courses MS1, MS2, PS1, PS2 from www(dot)freelancers(dot)co(dot)uk.
I am however interested to edit/proofread in the fiction genre.
I am a published travel writer with my most recent work for National Geographic and Toucan Publishers in London. I have just completed articles for a second National Geographic book with Toucan Publishers.
I am widely travelled and have built up a stock of images taken over the past 25 years from Brunei and Sarawak in South East Asia, to Haiti in the Caribbean, and my greatest number of images are from Southern and Eastern Africa - Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, Botswana and South Africa. These are of people, places, animals and landscapes.
I am based at present in Switzerland and I am available for assignment worldwide.
