Jenny Lloyd attended Builth Wells grammar school but left due to personal difficulties, aged 15. Jenny Lloyd then trained as a seamstress and spent many years as a single parent. Jenny Lloyd set up her own soft furnishings business when her daughter was small. Since then, she has been a seamstress by day and a writer by night.
In 2003, Jenny Lloyd began a degree course in Social Science with the Open University. At the end of her first year, the Open University awarded Jenny Lloyd the Sir Julian Hodge Prize - a national prize awarded for the highest achieving mature student with no previous formal education. Jenny Lloyd was urged to carry on with her studies, and was told she had a natural aptitude for the subject. Jenny Lloyd did not take this advice because further study would leave no time for her creative writing, which was more important to her than anything else.
In 2013, after many years in the writing, Jenny achieved her life-long wish and published her first novel, Leap the Wild Water.
Jenny Lloyd is now writing the sequel to Leap the Wild Water.
