I am also a professional musician in the genre of piano and organ. My musical skills have been used in several film and television recordings both instrumental and vocal.
My years of experience working for the public school system have given me the opportunity to develop or assess documents for clarity, accuracy, and/or logical content. Even though I have retired from the daily education system, I am still involved with charter school development and the development of a rigorous curriculum.

Education
-----------------
Summary: I began my college education at Whittier College in Whittier, California, USA. I completed my BA with a major in Music (Keyboard, Vocal, and Education) as well as minor in History. I also completed my California Teaching Credential in both, Elementary and Secondary School which is good for life in June of 1970. During my senior year in college, I was able to spend nearly 2 months traveling through Europe. The trip inspired me so much that I made it a point to return to Eastern and Western Europe over the next 4 summers and the and additional summer traveling around the world. The experience certainly changed the way I taught and inspired me to make my teaching experience exciting for each student. I continued on to complete my Masters of Education Degree in 1973 and immediately began working on and completing my Professional Administrative Certificate for the next 4 years. This was a new certification program which required very strategic courses of study given over a 4 year period. After 2 years the candidate must have secured an administrative position in a public school and then would be permitted to continue to the second 2 year program. I moved in a regular 2 to 3 year progression from Vice Principal, Junior High school 2 years, Assistant Principal, High School 1 year, and then appointed as Principal, Junior High School 3 years. I transferred districts to be closer to my home by applying and being hired for the position of Principal of a 2,400 student high school. I remained in that position for 6 years until being appointed as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the High School District. During that time I was responsible for moving our school(s) to a standard based instructional model. I was also responsible to ensure that the school would have the appropriate leadership to attain substantial growth on state assessments. I retired from the district in June, 2009. My high school had received increased assessment scores which led to them being named a California Distinguished School and further led to a full 6 year accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
