So, after some training as a translator and an interpreter I joined the Institute of Translators and Interpreters in London and was one of the first users of the Translation Memory programme TRADOS which they started promoting through their ITI bulletins.
It's been over ten years now since I started working as a freelance translator. Over time I developed very good links with various organizations in the UK and worked as a translator and interpreter on various European Union projects. I used to be an official interpreter for the City local Administration and the Administration of Nottinghamshire working on a twin City project. I am very good at interpreting political and legal issues. But my best area of expertise is technical translation for Steel Works, Mechanical Engineering, Mining and Automotive industries. I grew up in the Ural Region of Russia with a highly developed steel industry, machine building. Recently Oil&Gas and Defense material companies have become my clients.
While working as a freelance translator I continued to study, so I invested in myself. I did a course on Marketing at the University of South Carolina, and did a Business Management course at the Open University, Great Britain which gave me the knowledge and competence to set up my own translation Agency. I felt I needed to set up a good team to help businesses in successful communication providing high quality language services. So in 2004 I started as an entrepreneur in Russia and set up my own company. Since that time we have grown into a reliable translation service provider and our clients, both individuals and companies receive high quality service from us.
So I have two jobs now - I run my own Agency and I still work as a freelance translator. In this capacity I am looking to join your team, because for personal reasons I have to be a "virtual boss" of my Russian company even though I am now based in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am trying to market myself among USA translation service users and am more than willing to share my expertise and experience gained in Russia with a new team.
I am a good candidate to join your team: highly motivated, hard working, talented, fast. I will work hard to meet my customers' goals and deadlines.
My other skills: TRADOS Translator's Workbench, SDL, Adobe, Tag Editing (rtf files), html files. I play the piano a little and I ski.
Area Covered: Salt Lake City, Utah
