This is essential to be able to translate the essence of a text, and naturally also to be able to proof read. Moreover I am a perfectionist when it comes to text that is associated with my name and take great pride in what I do, no matter what!
I photograph people in their natural living environment, with a vocation to promote greater appreciation and respect for human diversity, nurtured through a life-time of cross-cultural education, living and travelling in different countries around the world. I seek to bring out the positive qualities that people radiate, such as wisdom, spiritual richness, pride, hope, joy and friendship. I have photographed extensively in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania (Zanzibar), Kenya, Zimbabwe, Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Greenland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, England, the United States and my native country Sweden.
I had several photographs published in magazines and books (including some covers), calendars, cards, a music video, websites and other media, and worked on some book projects of my own. I also had two exhibitions in Boston with the theme Faces of the World. My clients include: Sponsor Kids, The MindShare Foundation, the National Black Child Development Institute, the Population Reference Bureau, Response Magazine, The Environment Magazine, The World & I, Transitions Abroad Magazine, Benchmark Publishing, Capstone Press, Crabtree Press, Cobblestone Publishing and Scott Foresman Publishing.
Rinkeby: The Whole World in One Little Village is a project of mine that I am working on at the moment in Sweden. I am doing a book of portraits celebrating the fact that the whole world meets in the truly global suburb of Rinkeby in Stockholm. My aim is also to have a series of exhibitions of the same theme at community centres, museums and schools in Stockholm. Through this project, I hope to contribute to making people appreciate their neighbours and take pride in the fact that Sweden is now a vibrant multicultural society. Publishing proposals have been sent to publishers.
Faces of Stockholm is another project that I am working on - to do a book of portraits showcasing Stockholm\'s tremendous cultural diversity, and a series of exhibitions of the same theme at community centres, museums and schools. I want people who look at my photographs to feel as if they are looking at images of friends that they can identify with, hoping to promote greater cross-cultural understanding. This is a concept I have been working on for a while, wherever I have been living since I came up with this idea while living in Boston for 6 years. I would love to do somthing similar in London as well!
I am very aware of the power my photographs have always had on other people. I would love to be able to dedicate every moment to promoting peace and understanding and respect for the world and its heritage though my images. This is a dream and passion that burns inside me and that is so strong that nobody can shake it out of me! I want to be able to make people understand each other and appreciate our common heritage.
Should I have the opportunity to work for you, you can count on the best quality at all times, whatever the task. I never give less than 1000% to any photographic task, nor to any other task for that matter. I am also used to writing/editing reports of all sorts and this is something I am willing to do as well, should it be required of me. I will be able to travel and take on assignments, whatever and wherever they may be.
My father is a forest engineer who spent over 30 years abroad in the service of the world working for the United Nations (FAO). I grew up moving from one country to another in a family with a very deep commitment to making a difference in the word. Above all, I have picked up a sense of what is right and what is wrong in this world and a responsibility and dream to make things better.
I have an MPhil in Economics and Politics of Development from the University of Cambridge and did my undergraduate studies at the University of Uppsala in Sweden. I have worked for numerous international organisations, including INDI-UN, a partnership programme between the United Nations and the University of Cambridge to promote indigenous peoples and the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe with the One Wold 92 campaign. I also worked at EXPO 92 in Seville on an island where the whole world coexisted as one, for half a year. Though my international exposure from early childhood I speak Spanish, Portuguese, Malay and Cape Verdean Creole, in addition to English and my native Swedish and am able to communicate in French and Italian as well. I have done a lot of translation work/editing over the years and am extremely thorough.
My website is under construction at the moment. About 80% of the images in World Anthem Video in Youtube are my images.
