Work Experience Summary: 150th Celebration of the Submarine Telecommunications Industry
I project managed all aspects of this celebration including high profile events, press, publication production and the exhibition on behalf of Global Marine Systems Limited not to mention working with the Port of London Harbour Master on a regular basis. The overall budget for this mammoth project was £1,300,000.00. There were many individual projects that had to be managed in order to achieve overall success, eighteen months of careful preparation were required and the following tasks were completed.
From Elektron to ’e’ Commerce • a commemorative anniversary book with contributions from Global Marine, BT, Alcatel and Cable & Wireless.
The visit of Cable Ship C.S. Wave Sentinel to Greenwich Pier, London • over 1500 guests toured the ship during the visit including schools, business partners and royalty.
Eight hospitality functions were hosted including a VIP dinner with guest of honour His Royal Highness, The Duke of York.
The DTI hosted the first ever Merchant Navy Day with Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, onboard C.S. Wave Sentinel.
A supporting permanent exhibition was conceived, designed and constructed at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich to celebrate the historical achievements of the industry.
An 18-month corporate gift calendar was compiled and produced to commemorate the achievements and pioneers of the telecommunications industry.

International Institute of Health & Holistic Therapies • Level 3 Swedish Massage
This course initially covered an in depth understanding of physical anatomy equivalent to GCSE Biology.
Following this the practical elements of massage were taught.
The culmination of this course enabled me to practice Swedish massage as a beauty therapist at any spa.
University of East Anglia 1998•99
Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma
This was a remote learning course and it provided the basis for the diploma’s four sections - Marketing Strategy, Marketing Communications, International Marketing and a Case Study. I gained a merit in the Strategy paper.
I achieved the position of Chartered Marketer in July 2001.

I participated in the American Exchange Scheme. The application involved a series of in-depth interviews - final assessment was based upon first year examination results. I studied at Meredith College, North Carolina, achieving a position on the Dean’s List for academic achievement.
Placement year - Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society. I compiled reports for the CEO on issues such as: staff welfare to the product portfolio, regularly presenting to the board.

The Marketing Specialist
