During my PhD at EMBL-Hamburg I developed a widely used database of small angle scattering primary data and models, SASBDB. In this project I was responsible for all phases, from the design of the relational schema to the implementation of the online interface. In addition, I collaborated with several research groups also in the framework of a Marie Curie Network (IDPbyNMR).
In Molecular Health I work as protein bioinformatician developing tools and databases with the final scope of helping the quality of the treatments in cancer patients. I analyzed TCGA data, developed a curated database of epitopes, devised a tool to automatically extract information and display cancer-related pathways and worked at different gene-to-protein mapping workflows.
Regarding my programming skills, I am proficient in Python and I have learned Perl, C and Fortran. In addition I have worked extensively with different DBMS like MySQL and PostgreSQL. Since I enjoy web development and design, during my free time I collaborate at the design of several websites, like www.zap15.net. I've always worked in international environments where I developed strong communication and organizational skills.
