Single-handedly produced a magazine aimed
at the Asian restaurant and catering industry in the
Midlands for my client, Westpoint Printing Company, a
Birmingham printer. I designed, copy wrote, photographed,
edited, scheduled, budgeted and project managed the whole
magazine for its launch in October 1999.
Among other projects I worked on with Cornish client Atlantic Signs, I also copy wrote a marketing entry to highlight their ebay sales presence, a pre-Christmas sales letter and a newsletter item (2006).
Regularly copy write property marketing content for
Charles Head & Son Estate Agency, Kingsbridge. (current)
Reviewed the Dart Harbour website content
(www.dartharbour.org) (April 2008). Set up the original web
site strategy and wrote all the source material from scratch,
using available in-house documents and interviews conducted
with staff. Scheduled, budgeted and project managed the
whole project for its launch in February 2006.

Among other projects for City College Plymouth, I copy
wrote and edited marketing material for a new staff
magazine, and created web content to market 350 adult
part time courses (Jan - May 2008).
I copy wrote daily news and magazine-style items
for the website of Time Manager International, a business
training company (2000-2001).
Selection of other marketing project work
Teamed up with the Head of Undergraduate
Marketing at the University of Plymouth (2006
and again in 2008) to create and run training
courses in persuasive copywriting to
both faculty marketing representatives and the
academics. I created and produced workbooks
for the delegates. My courses were well attended
and well received by both staff and their managers.
m Copy wrote and edited material for
Breathe Business, a local dental business training
organisation, following their client business club
meetings (June - July 2008).
Worked with BBC naturalist, Stephen
Westcott (who is also the West Country’s leading
grey seal expert) to design and publish (May
2008) a 52pp booklet entitled Coastal Wildlife - A
guide to wildlife watching in one of our dwindling
wilderness areas. Stephen runs wildlife cruises from
Dartmouth to Totnes in the summer and these
books support his talks.
I collaborated with UoP academics (2007)
to copy write, edit, schedule and produce a
marketing brochure to promote the new Marine
Institute. The brochure was launched later that
year to wide acclaim.
Consulted on the University of Plymouth’s
Alumni magazine (2006). Working with the Head
of Development and Fundraising and her Alumni
Officer, I copy wrote and edited content and
advised on images. The new look magazine was
very well received by both internal and external
Proofread the whole of the University of
Plymouth 2009 undergraduate prospectus for the
Marketing and Communications department.
Collaborated with the University
of Plymouth’s Head of Marketing and
Communications (2003) to copywrite, edit
and produce the Step-by-Step Planning Guide for
Painless Publishing. I created a training course based
upon this guide and taught print production skills
to staff members. The Ready to Publish? form, I
created with the above guide, was then adopted
by the University as a standard form with which
to streamline production processes with its inhouse
Document Production Centre.
Successfully worked with the Head of
Publications at the Office of the Rail Regulator
(2001) and the Head of Communications at
DEFRA (2003-2005) to design, edit and publish
documents for government.
Have also successfully worked with a range
of other businesses including a local council, and a local photographic agency.
