Suman has also contributed to a variety of book projects as a writer, editor and researcher, including: The Man in the Rockefeller Suit: The Astonishing Rise and Spectacular Fall of a Serial Imposter (Viking, 2011), Kris Jenner…and All Things Kardashian (Simon & Schuster, 2011) and Wildflower: An Extraordinary Life and Untimely Death in Africa (Random House, 2009), a nonfiction release about the life and murder of wildlife conservationist Joan Root that is being adapted to the screen by Working Title Films in a feature film starring Julia Roberts.
In addition to editorial work, Suman provides professional copywriting and marketing services to private clients with specializations in real estate, art, business, beauty and fashion. Past and current clients include The Corcoran Group, The Northwest Literacy Foundation, BeBiotin, How-To Hair Girl and The Rising States.
Since 2010, she has served as the Director of Communications for Klughaus New York, a contemporary art gallery and creative agency that represents fine artists with roots in street art and graffiti. In 2008, she co-founded the New York City Type-Off™, which has served as a forum for east coast typewriter enthusiasts for the past seven years. Since 2014, she has been the curator for Art Primo in Seattle, and also regularly guest curates special exhibits and installations for galleries and commercial clients around the U.S.
Suman grew up in Seattle and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Sociology from NYU before going on to complete her graduate work at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She splits her time between Seattle, New York and Los Angeles.
