Los Angeles, CA, USTracy submitted a proposal for my posting but, in the interim, I had already selected another proposal. From her profile, I thought her to be highly qualified and made a note of her profile. I also sent her a note after declining her offer. Her response was gracious. What caught my eye in her profile was that she was a grad of the University of the Arts London (UAL). I knew that UAL had the most prestigious graphic design school in Europe and that their students had undertaken a rigorous education and, more likely than not, were highly competent. Very much like the Rhode School of Graphic Design or Savannah College of Art and Design in thd US. When you see grads of these schools, all bets are off. These are very prestigious schools and produce exceptional grads. Thus, when my project did not work out with the accepted graphic designer, I contacted Tracy.
I gave her a detailed brief and she answered with an equally detailed response. Her response impressed the hell out of me, this lady had evidently read the brief and understood what I was saying, an absolute rareity on free lance sites. I thought that she grasped the essence of what I was seeking. And, to compound things, when offered the gig, she delivered, big time.
In my response to her, I stated that in my many, many posts on PPH or other free lance sites, only one before had a Seller exceeded my expectations. Many Sellers perform well, they are often competent. They perform as expected but, only once had my expectations been exceeded and now, Tracy exceeded expectations. To use the vernacular, she blew me away.
A few days later, she inquired about revisions as I had not requested any. I did not request any because none were required, just a few edits. Unheard of, yep. Imagine that: no English communication problems, superior quality work, prompt turn round and great price for a UAL graduate. Golly, should I be saying all this and encourage competition for her work? Yes. It is honest and she has earned it. One caveat though, please do not steal her away, we can share!!
