David has been instrumental in the following recent high profile initiatives;
’• The redesign of the Telstra Bill resulting in the highest customer satisfaction ever recorded. In 2004, the design won a Design Effectiveness award from the Australian Graphic Design Association
’• The redesign of all IAG policy and renewal documents which delivered measurable business improvements.
’• Research and Development of model consumer documents for the financial services industry and regulator in Australia.
’• The development of an award winning Industry Code of Practice for Labeling for all Non-Prescription medicines sold in Australia. This is a world leading initiative. The code is cited in government regulations.
’• 2005 Delivered the Keynote address in Boston, USA to an international conference on ’‘Designing Financial Informmation' organised by the International Institute of Information Design
ABOUT DAVID SLESS
David graduated from Leeds University in 1965. In 1975 he was awarded an MSc by Durham University for his research in communication and information design.
He is Adjunct Professor in Science Communication at the Australian National University, Visiting Professor of Information Design at the Design Institute at Coventry University, and Adjunct Professor of Information Design at the University of Technology in Sydney.
In 2001 he became Co-Chairman of the Information Design Association in the UK, and in 2002 he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
In 2004 he was elected Vice President of the International Institute of Information Design
