Job Title: Programme Designer
Company: Chelmsford City Football Club
Description: For every Chelmsford City home game I design and edit an 84-page matchday programme.
A full colour issue each game, I also took on the position of editor and therefore contribute much of the publication's content and have to research a number of things in order to produce each issue.
With tight deadlines for each match, issues occasionally have to be turned around within circa 24-48 hours, particularly with midweek matches played on a Monday night.
Job Title: Self-Employed Graphic Designer
Company: Duplexity Artwork
Description: Self-employment offers me increased flexibility around my studies, as well as develop key skills such as organisation to coordinate the two roles and attend meetings with both current and prospective clients, for face-to-face and remote working.
I'm required to manage the accounting side of the business, collecting debts, filing tax returns and coordinating with print suppliers from throughout the UK. Moreover, having developed my site, I also need to manage all online media, search-engine optimization and any promotional efforts around the above.
An 84-page programme is designed for Chelmsford City every game, of which I also act as the editor and therefore need to write much of each issue's content, too.
Job Title: Graphic Co-ordinator
Company: Colchester United Football Club
Description: As the only in-house designer, I produced brochures, website graphics, club stationery and helped to advertise commercial functions.
This coincided with the transition into the new stadium in 2008, where I assisted the club's rebranding efforts through the redesign of the official club shop website, letterheads and compliment slips.
At times I also travelled to a number of away games with the media departement to write website match reports whilst, for home games, I operated the big screen having designed most of the slides.
Job Title: Web Design Assistant
Company: GFM Holdings
Description: Temporary part-time position to offer assistance whilst a vacancy was unfilled. Produced web graphics for the online Fantasy Football games of high-profile organisations such as the Sun and the Metro newspapers.
