I am NCE (now NQJ) qualified, and have a Teeline shorthand speed of about 120-130 wpm.
I can provide content to brief for web (including blogs), news publications and magazines. Please note, I usually charge by the word, at a rate of 30p per word. For example, a 1,500-word article would come to £450.
I am a versatile and adaptable writer, able to turn my hand to almost any style, covering everything from human interest stories to interviews with the CEOs of some of the world's largest mining companies. I also have a proven track record of being a fast learner, able to take in and interpret complex information in order to present it in a clear, concise manner.
I am also a writer in the more creative sense and would be happy to take on marketing or ad copy. I am a stickler for detail and also have an outstanding grasp of spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Work experience summary:
Most recently, I was a senior correspondent at Metal Bulletin, a leading B2B title in the mining and metals industry. I have also worked at Leasing Life, a respected publication covering asset finance, having begun my career at the Waltham Forest Guardian, a local news outlet in East London. In my free time, I have written blogs for the Huffington Post.
I am NCE (now NQJ) qualified and am up-to-date on libel and defamation law in the UK. I also have an upper-second class (2.1) degree in English Literature from UCL.
