Job Title: Consultant
Company: Perigord Developpement
Description: In June 2009, I offered my services to the Board of Directors of Périgord Développement as soon as I learned of the untimely death of Marc Mercier, Director of the organisation since its creation in 2005 and a regional colleague from FBCCI, to assist in the interim until such time as a new Director was recruited. Fully conversant with and understanding the workings of a small but very proactive and busy organisation and the related financial restraints, I made myself available to assist with the organisation’s main aim, which is to provide a personalised accompaniment to entrepreneurs throughout the process of their installation in the Dordogne, either in the creation of a new project or in the purchase of an existing business. Making the fullest use of the close and strong links that allow the organisation to function so efficiently and pulling on my own widespread professional experience and network, I guided entrepreneurs through the steps of establishing themselves in the area, including assisting them with personalised offers of 0% set-up loans through the France Initiative system which also offered the business managers the added bonus of a free consultant throughout the length of the loan period.
My experience at Jersey Chamber and Jersey Business Venture provided me with the skills necessary to receive and assess the very varied spread of projects, to examine the preparation of the project owner, to assist them in areas where they needed specialist support, to guide them into strategic and long-term planning for the business and to introduce them to the appropriate local institutional, economic and professional contacts.
Mr. Francois Gaumet at the Dordogne Chamber of Commerce has kindly agreed to provide a recommendation for me, please do not hesitate to contact him and a mobile telephone number can be provided by me with this in mind.
