Long way to be what I am standing now, I spent most of my career in the largest on-one-site integrated textile factory in Indonesia. The company has facility for yarn spinning, fabrics weaving, dyeing and processing, laundry, and in-house garment factory. I was spreading on my wings in the fabrics department. During my tenure, I have been succeded to sell denim fabrics to a lot of target customers.
From brand holder, local brand, and department store. My brand clientele were included: Itierre Spa (Italy, a licensee holder for Gianfranco Ferre, Versace, etc), Levi's (through their Asia Pacific headquarter in Hongkong), Gap (through their regional office in Singapore and Hongkong), Marks and Spencer (UK), VF (VF Asia Jeanswear and Imagewear, through their regional office in Bangladesh and Hongkong), and many more.
It was a hectic days to visit a lot of spaces, to meticulously meet designer wants or suggest new fabrics design for their upcoming season campaign. In addition, department store may call them for additional fabrics repeat order for popular items. And all of those are season driven. I have used to present my latest fabrics collection in front of brand designers team to convince them to at least give a try in next season collection sample.
But after all, I enjoyed all those activities reading fashion magazine, or find another reason to shop at the weekend for something usefull ideas.
Serving 6 years in textile and garments, I looked toward to experience working in a real multinational company. It was an indeed my fortune that they were accepted me to join as Business Development Manager. With around 20,000 people world wide and turn over of EUR 8 billion, I have never dreamed to be part of such a giant when I was approached by Executive Search consultant. Not mentioning during my recruitment process, they personally came down to Jakarta to interview me together with two others expatriates (top management) placed in Jakarta and another one local employee. After 3 rounds interview and screening all the candidates, here I am now.
Working with my present company really an eye-opening experience for me. All work has to achieve international standard. A full international team support sales activities with top-notch result. From press release, industry update, news, report, become the inseparable part. And I am proud enough that my present company is the said industry-standard benchmark in its field.
With all the long experience I have, I pursue this opportunity of my thirsty soul for self satisfaction. Being able to offer my professional service will expand my utmost creativity beyond the company border. To work with an interesting project, to know that your personal work is valuable for others, to be somewhere in future arrange my own working schedule and balanced life. This is where and how I am starting with.
