I am happy to write anything from web content and marketing and promotional literature to user guides, technical manuals and training course materials. I am an expert in understanding and analysing information and presenting it clearly and succinctly in plain English. I am happy to research and write about virtually any subject.
I provide a professional, prompt and reliable service and I am always willing to negotiate my rate. I keep in regular contact with my clients throughout a project to ensure that they are happy at all stages and that the end product is to their complete satisfaction.
Area Covered: Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Gloucetsershire
Work Experience Summary: Writing
I have worked for a very wide range of clients from multi-national organisations to small local businesses. I have researched and written the copy for web sites, flyers, brochures, pre-sales literature, articles, business letters and reports etc. and I have designed and written user guides, product guides, reference and administration guides, installation guides, technical manuals, business procedures and product specifications. I have also designed and written an introductory and an intermediate Microsoft Windows course for an organisation which specialised in computer training.
For two years I worked as an ICT Learning Centres Support and Training Officer for a local county council. This involved developing, designing and running IT courses based on the Microsoft Office products for people who were typically excluded from conventional training courses (i.e. older people, people in rehab, homeless people and travellers). I have also worked as a freelance IT and ECDL trainer and tester and as a part-time IT tutor at an IT Learning Centre run by a local college of Further Education.
For nearly four years I managed three local community websites for three district councils. This job involved a wide range of responsibilities from monitoring and managing all of the websites set up by local community groups on each community website portal to creating marketing, promotional and publicity material, designing and writing online tutorials, organising and running demonstrations, workshops and training sessions and writing the copy for press releases and local council and community publications.
