Christina has been polishing, editing and freeing documents from unwanted errors for the last twenty years. Her working life began as a promotions assistant at William Collinsmore...Christina has been polishing, editing and freeing documents from unwanted errors for the last twenty years. Her working life began as a promotions assistant at William Collins (as it then was), and progressed through overseeing the page proof stage of a new edition of the Bible and freelance work on a variety of non-fiction books. She gradually moved away from book publishing to work on corporate literature, newsletters, magazines and web sites.
As a tutor she delivers training on behalf of the SfEP in proofreading and web editorial skills. She also delivers training to private clients in many aspects of preparing words for publication. A former committee member of the SFEP, she edited the Society's magazine, Editing Matters, and is proud to be an honorary member of the Society.
Area Covered: Proofreading and editing general non-ficiton and business texts for print and the web
Work Experience Summary: Recent editing assignments include monthly proofreading of Oryx, in flight magazine for Qatar Airways, the Robert Hamill report, to be published by TSO, How to Remove Stains (book for a private client), in other words, a broad base of non-fiction subjects.
Current training programmes: Introduction to web editorial skills, Introduction to Proofreading and Training for trainer, all for the Society for Editors and Proofreaders
Other recent projects: creating house style documents, constructing editing tests, rewriting web sites, writing brochures, managing editor for ITIL refresh for TSO.
