I was responsible for a budget of $26 million for S/S 08 with newborn
and toddler at 40% of the buying mix. Helped restructure the pricing
format as none was in place, my team bought product for the mid to high
price points allowing the Russians buyers to source the entry price points
in Russia. Looked at supply base and concentrated on 5 main suppliers to
drive volume and therefore leverage on price, ensured communications
were strong between the UK and Russian buying teams.
Achievements • Price restructure, intake margin targets achieved of 65%
critical path set up for managing intake of stock, put in place sign off
meetings, met financial targets of buy and markdown of 10%, introduced
commercial fashionable quality product ranges. Set in place the
management for Letter of Credit instead of all cash buys and in so doing
the management of the OTB was achieved.
Working at Mothercare I Increased options to 1000 as requested by franchisees, achieving
90% availability into warehouse, increased sales from £2.5 million a year to over
£16 million per year at cost, consolidated supply base in line with UK business to
