I have successfully completed my studies at the University of Sheffield, gaining a 2:! In Modern Languages with Interpreting: French and German. During my time at the University of Sheffield I have studied both written and oral translation at length and this has been the basis of most of my written exams. I am able to translate both out of and into the foreign language. I also studied transcription and subtitling for one semester and now feel confident when using both of these skills. Owing to my interpreting modules I now feel very competent in conference, simultaneous and consecutive interpreting both into and out of French and German and my Interpreting journals submitted at the end of my final semester for examination have been chosen by an external examiner for publication on an Interpreting website.
I also spent 6 months at l’Université de Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en Yvelines, Paris, France studying the French language and French History, where I also completed 2 interpreting glossary projects on French architecture and French wine production.
I then spent 6 months at Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main, Germany studying Germanic Grammar and History. This university specializes in financial studies and I gained a first for my interpreting dissertation on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, which has furthered my knowledge of financial vocabulary in German
