Hello,more...The Happy Typist! Transforming a defeated disabled investigator into a motivated happy typist making sure your typing is done professionally, accurately and ON TIME!
Hello, I'm Catherine, the brand new freelancer with 40 years experience in typing services! My bio at the bottom and shows why I am so motivated and enthusiastic, and it is not all about me!
My skills are varied, learned over 40 years in various types of employment, my most recent as a self-employed fraud investigator (see bio below for reasons for ending this work). I have been typing throughout my work life and have built up a lot of experience with many types of work, including transcribing.
I have always been known as a friendly hard working person who never gets stressed in the workplace. I am reliable, enthusiastic, motivated, and very friendly. I am happy working long hours to get a job completed before a deadline and I am happy to learn new skills to help you complete your work.
Working at home and managing my time seems to be inbuilt, having worked this way for 20+ years. Over the past 5 years, I have had spells working long hours 7 days a week to keep up with demand, and loved it, the feeling of accomplishment.

BIT OF A BIO
Sadly, I recently had to say goodbye to the career I loved. I worked hard as a self-employed fraud investigator and dedicated years to learning as much as possible about the sector, rewarding me with an enviable reputation as a hard working, knowledgeable and reliable investigator.
I already had a significant physical disability and had adapted to life at work with this. Then recently, due to becoming partially sighted I lost my driving licence and the means necessary to continue investigating. Last year I started my Master's Degree in Counter Fraud but have had to put this on hold due to losing my income. I am ready to restart this as soon as I am working again - so I hope you can help me get there!
With the frightening prospect of not working, being home all day and relying on disability benefits I took to searching for ways to remain employed and found this magical world of freelancing. I hadn't realised how many useful transferable skills I had and so, here begins my mission on my next work adventure.
During my fraud investigating work, I had a huge responsibility to get it right, first time, because getting it wrong could have potentially devastating effects on the person being investigated. I was responsible for investigations from the initial suspicions, through interviewing, carrying out in depth investigations, analysing and making sense of all the information then preparing the case to hand over to those involved in the next stage. I interviewed people from all walks of life, from the let's have a go scammer to the highly organised "crash for cash" gangs. I have had to work in situations compromising my safety whilst being confident to ask the difficult questions. Being acutely aware during interviews makes a huge difference to the outcome; I studied forensic linguistics because just one word, uttered out of context, could break the case. I will use that same level of awareness and determination when working for you, no matter the size of the instruction.
INTERESTS: I used to love travelling the track less travelled (solo camping in Africa, solo backpacking in Asia etc.), drawing, writing, learning, I love being with my family and spending time with my pets. I also enjoy (but am terrible at) gardening and DIY!
I look forward to working with you.
