As an undergraduate student at Translation Department, I also began working as a technical translator for Grundfos Pumps in 2010. The documents I have been translating for more than five years primarily cover subjects in the realm of finance and law as well as technical specifications about company products. My job description has expanded over time as to support the reconfiguration of the corporate website, follow and update it and finally write original content/stories about company activities for the website and sectoral journals. At the same time, I worked for some translation bureaus thanks to which I could have experience with various kinds of texts and learnt to work within a strict timetable.
Another field in which I wished to see my interest and skills was literary translation and book publishing. After a couple of months I completed my bachelor of arts degree, I was commissioned to translate an English novel into Turkish. The book was published in May, 2013 and a month after that I began working as an editorial intern at a certain Publishing House.
In September, 2013 I went to London to study "Critical and Cultural Studies" at the University of Westminster after I had been informed that I was awarded full-funded Turkey Scholarship by the University itself. I completed my master of arts degree in September, 2014 and returned to the country.
Today, I still continue translating and writing original content for the company for which I started working in 2010. Besides, I am a freelance editor of a certain Publishing House for which I perform editing and revising of translated copies of original books in fiction genre.
Sincerely thank you for your interest.
