Summary: Ben Rigby is a freelance legal journalist. He is the current Editor of CDR and ALB, having previously held a range of roles within both titles since 2009, and a past Editor of Costs Lawyer magazine and an acting Features Editor of Solicitors' Journal. He previously worked as a staff reporter on Legal Business and In-House Lawyer magazines, and was formerly the Bar Editor of the Legal 500 UK.
He has written regularly for Law Business Review, Commercial Dispute Resolution (CDR) Magazine, African Law & Business, (ALB), Managing Partner, the Law Society Gazette, Legal Week, In-House Practitioner, IBA News and various young lawyer magazines, including Eurolawyer, TSG Life, and YSG Magazine.
In addition he has worked with a number of leading law firms and barristers chambers' on a variety of copywriting and event management projects, including conferences, as well as directory submmissions, research, round tables, and other marketing events.
A non-practicing solicitor, he has worked in general practice in Essex and Kent, as well as at the Law Society of England & Wales and in government.

Editor of the Bar section of a leading legal directory. Responsible for editing the London, Regional and Scottish Bar sections. Managed all key relationships with senior clerks and heads of chambers. Also requires liaison with senior editorial, production, and marketing staff internally to meet publication deadlines. Wrote the main commercial sections on the London Bar, conducting research and interviewing counsel, partners and clients. Handled sensitive information and complex legal issues succinctly and discreetly. Demonstrated strong project management skills, dealing with tight deadlines, and managed both freelance and researcher staff within time and budget parameters.
Key achievements include expanded coverage of key areas, improved stakeholder communication, superior information on submissions process, and stronger submissions. Provided Bar news, leaders, and features for Legal Business, a senior-level magazine for commercial lawyers. Generated inaugural Chambers of the Year award for the Legal Business Awards 2009.
Responsible for monthly news, features and individual profiles for In-House Lawyer, a monthly legal magazine with a circulation of 20,000. Combined research and communication skills, in dealing with FTSE 500 corporate counsel, major City law firms, and professional associations.
