Certified Process Professionalmore...Currently offering customers Technology enabled Organizational Strategy implementation, Process Engineering and Organizational Change Management.
Certified Process Professional (CPP-Professional) from the BP Group.
Right through my career, I have been driven by these - an entrepreneual bend of mind, ethics, high degree of professionalism and an ability to listen, not just hear.

Job Title: Manager - Practice & Business Development, Oracle Applications Practice
Company: i-flex Solutions Ltd.
Description: It was back to "setting up from scratch" and doing everything all over again. From being the first person in the unit to a team close to a 100 people, from zero revenues to close to USD 3.5 million in 2.5 years, from helping one of the largest fund management company in the world in a merger in the United States to helping the largest bank in Indonesia in their Technology Landscape overhaul, the journey was loaded with all the challenges one could ask for.
This is where I also learnt the basics of sales - the good, the bad and the ugly, all inclusive.
To differentiate ourselves from the mundane "services" segment of typical IT companies, I had to evangelize key customer values adds both from "within the IT system" perspective and "outside the IT system" by creating "Branded Service Offerings", which was a hit with customers.
This stint enabled immense learning opportunities for me while I went about developing Business Strategy for the SBU, Designing Complex System Architectures for selling Proof of Concepts, creating Innovation Framework (including institutionalizing Innovation in a group of consultants who have only worked in pure "services" functions) and evaluating business impacts of seemingly non-profitable customer engagements.
By this time I was ready to start my own venture, which I did eventually.
Job Title: Technical Manager
Company: Wipro Technologies
Description: (Please read the job description one section below before you read this)
The team grew from 70 to over 1000 in a matter of over a year and it became the largest customer Wipro ever had.
During my stint in Britain, the most significant change that I brought about to the part I was leading, was to convert it from a pure Technology Outsourcing work into a Consulting one. I ensured my team was so good at the domain, that customer new recruits were often sent to my team to be trained on business processes.
Wipro ofcourse went on to create their first consulting group in the Energy & Utilities domain.
Implementing greenfield ERP, aiding technology integration during Re-Structuring for a world leader in electronics & entertainment and ensuring worldwide technology unification for one of the largest Logistics company in the world, reducing open tickets by over 90% for a top Energy company using SIX SIGMA methodology, taking part in SEI-CMM and ISO audits- all of these have been challenging and exciting at the same time.
Also these were some of the countless other things I did at Wipro - playing cricket with the EAS team, the numerous Sher-o-Shayari sessions with some really intellectual people, arranging "domain" specific events, taking part in corporate cultural festivals or blogging on the company intranet or even an impromptu interview to a Times of India Journalist at 12 am while I was leaving office and finding my picture and interview in the next day's edition and being amused.
I learnt how to communicate with peers, juniors, managers and executive management during this phase. By this time the entrepreneur in me was beginning to re-surface and I wanted to create some thing else from scratch.
I joined Wipro when the total strength was hovering around 5000 people, it was over 50,000 when I left to build a new SBU at another equally dynamic but culturally different organization.
Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Company: Wipro Technologies
Description: This is where I became what I am today professionally. I was at the right place at the right time and it helped me grow from a person who justed created "what" customers wanted, to a person who understood "why" they need it and "how" it will help them and "when". This is where I learnt the meaning of organizational "priorities", no matter how good a technology you have on hand.
Reminiscing the following, gives me an immense sense of pride and satisfaction:
I was rather young compared to my peers in the team and the company was hit by the worldwide telecom market tumble. This customer was new and what we did as a team would define what
the company becomes in the future. A team of about 70 people worked against time and delivered what the customer wanted - on the day they wanted and how they wanted it. It helped them comply with UK's strictest regulatory compliance yet, because it was the first time that Europe was seeing de-regulation in the Utility market.
I was chosen as one of the few to lead the GO-LIVE and we did it in style. All the round the clock pizza's and napping in the meeting rooms before slogging it out again, paid off.
We cheered when the customer gifted each team member with a sizable amount in GBP!
Job Title: Software Analyst
Company: Nano Kernel Ltd. (formerly Kernel Software Pvt. Ltd.)
Description: My first job and it was almost entrepreneurial in nature. An organization which earlier existed in the educational domain metamorphosed into a Software Product Development company.
I joined the "new" organization from day one and we were a small enthusiastic set of people. Did everything from moving chairs and tables, setting up standard operating procedures, setting up the entire physical infrastructure, the company strategy, design and development of the products.
Was part of the making of some exciting products back then, in the areas of rural & co-operative banking, micro-finance, energy & utilities and healthcare much before it became buzzwords of today. The organization grew and had several talented people and some awesome products, by the time I left the company to explore how "very large" organizations work.
My stint in this job keeps helping me even today - helps me to stay grounded and look at the facts, to dream and to have no fear.
