Work Experience Summary: I trained as a State Enrolled Nurse back in the early 1980’s at Southend General Hospital. Once qualified I had post-enrolment experience of Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Maternity and Neonatal Care, X-ray and Imaging, Cardiology and General Geriatric Medicine.
I left nursing in 1985, when I trained as a secretary and had several jobs in corporate fields (including the former May & Baker Pharmaceutical Company) until 1993, when I joined the Royal London Medical College as Clinical Secretary . Whilst there I helped to co-ordinate several clinical trials in autoimmunity and also dealt with the administration of an allergy clinic. I was also involved with producing many clinical papers for the Professor and his team and articles and reviews for many prestigious medical journals.
In 1997, I married and secured a position at The Priory Hospital in Chelmsford (formerly The Duke’s Priory) where I was acting secretary for the visiting consultants and therapists with specialist interests in Eating Disorders, Sexual Health and Child Psychiatry/Psychology.
In 2001, I moved to Broomfield where I took the position of secretary to an Upper GI Surgeon/Clinical Director in General Surgery/Urology. I went part-time in 2002, working for rheumatology covering the post of a retired secretary until a new consultant and secretary were appointed and covering as a consultant's secretary one day a week. Once this vacancy was filled I worked as support secretary to the Dermatology Team and continued to cover for Dr Jenkins secretary.
More recently I have been working for MEDISEC (a temp agency) at Basildon Hospital in the Paediatric and Haematology Departments.
Education Summary: Trained as a State Enrolled Nurse in the 80's. AMSPAR Medical Terminology Training.
