The variety of copy and pace of work at these placements has given me a broad experience of subbing for print and online content. In feedback from Johnston Press I was described as “an asset to any newsroom” and I was offered freelance work with The Grocer magazine following my work placement.
My ethos of “Accuracy, Brevity, Clarity” gives me a concise yet flexible voice and a keen eye for subbing. I believe my varied training in journalism and the arts has given me the skills to adapt to any situation.
Area Covered: Writing, journalism, sub-editing
Work Experience Summary: After graduating an NCTJ course in journalism and sub-editing I completed two months of work experience at Johnston Press Newspapers (Sussex) and Esquire magazine as a sub-editor.
I then went on to work in PR for a month in the run-up to a concert premier for a children's choir in London.
I've since returned to Johnston Press for more placements and also been given paid worked at The Grocer magazine following a placement there in May 2010.
