Job Title: IT Manager
Company: Atlas Management Corporation
Description: Atlas Management Corporation is privately owned asset Management Company with over 200 staff and a property portfolio worth USD $1 Billion. Their primary aim is to provide long term lease for government organisation and other large commercial organisation. These include the Home Office, Telegraph Office, Passport Office, India Building - Liverpool, Astral Towers and many other important government bodies.
Position Held: IT Manager
My job function was as IT manager who was charged with total responsibility for their IT department. It also included installation, configuration and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with Active Directory, but no Exchange. We use to have an ISP for our email services and used POP connector to collect all emails.
I was based in their head office in Mayfair – Central London and had to travel to various sites to conduct daily management tasks. Most of my duties were to ensure that the company was operational 100% of the time and IT was used in an effective and dynamic way to facilitate the business core operations. My personal achievement came when I was given a budget of £100,000 to upgrade the existing Windows 2000 network to Windows 2003 and change all the infrastructure of the main head office. It presented me with an opportunity to showcase my IT skills and provided me with a platform to outshine as the head of my IT department. As well as upgrading the existing infrastructure, I also managed to streamline most of the IT strategy which was close to non existence before I joined.
Overall I had a brilliant 2 years service with Atlas Management Corporation and soon outgrown my position and so had to move on to more challenging and demanding position.
