Excel help - creating a macro or Vlook up to bring data together
Hello We have 4 datasheets in an Excel workbook. We keep contact data (name, company & email address) on there, each sheet has the contacts split into groups that they attend across the columns. There are probably c800 contacts across the sheets. Periodically I am looking search and bring together on a separate sheet all the contacts with a specific company email domain + the group they are each in - as I want to show that company which of their staff are involved in our groups. I would do this at a point in time. We are currently do this manually. So I am looking to have something set up on an extra sheet where I can specify which email domain I am looking for this time and then to 'run' it, and it will pick up the relevant contacts on each of the sheets and also the title of the group they are in. I am thinking perhaps a macro would work? See my fake data sheet. I am not looking to change the format/layout of the worksheets if possible, as we are all used to working with them as they are. Automate two Excel Files
I need to automate the following process in Excel using VBA. File 1 This is a reference file. See attached. Users can add/delete from this. File 2 File 2 is the Excel Master Template. In worksheet 1, there is a measure name in column A and a table with the 12 months of the year, split by quarter in columns B,C,D and E. The measures or tasks that people do in their day get manually input by TLs each month in the respective cell of the month against a measure line in cell B3, B4, C3, C4 and C13, C14 etc., TLs can manually update other cells that are not relevant to this exercise. In addition, there are 12 other tabs in this file, one for each month. Each of these tabs has its own tables with data in them that people manually enter. Format of these tables are the same for each month tab. These two files are saved in the same folder. TLs currently open File 2, go to worksheet 1 and manually insert the task or measure that they did each month. For example, they will update figures and text cell B3 for January and in C2 for February and so on. They can also update tasks that they hope to in future months. TLs update this same information again in the corresponding monthly tab. I want to automate this process using VBA. Pick the information from worksheet 1, say, cell B2, B3, B4 for January and copy the information into cell B33, B37, B28 etc., in the January tab. However, any other information that already exists in the monthly tabs in other cells that has been manually input should retain that information irrespective of the macro. They manually input the individual reference number and name in columns B1 and B2 of these monthly tabs. This needs to be automated using VBA using predictive text and populated to all the monthly tabs. In simple terms: Open file 2, pick reference data from 1 and populate cells in B1 and B2 in 12 monthly tabs. Then run VBA and take information from worksheet 1 and insert into specific cells in their coo corresponding monthly tab. Have a ‘Save As’ option defaulted to where File 2 was picked with the file name defaulted to the reference name picked. I use Office365 at work and my data is confidential. Therefore, I have created two dummy data files in Excel for you to work on. I have to replicate what you do in my work computer. Therefore, I must be able to re-type the VBA code at work. My suggestion is to create an Update tab for this as per File 2. Happy to look at alternatives. For someone with good VBA skills, this isn’t a difficult/time consuming job. So, if the VBA code need to change by a single line, I don't want you to charge me for an hours work! Timeline is roughly to have a demo version within three/four days and a permanent solution within one/two weeks max as I have to juggle any testing around my day job and possible yours. Web scraping (URL) with VBA
Hello, I have an e-commerce website (not create by myself and no real database), I was able to extract main product information in CSV but I still need the URL 'page for each product to use for SEO and redirection. I would like a VBA macro using my website adress, using the product description, copy/paste them in google and extract the URL of the first product found (99% of chance to be mine). I can use VBA for some work but I cannot use it to be connected to google, internet... We have a excel template which we use to paste in new data. This data is then pivoted and restructured using references and logic to make several output files from a macro click. The excel template we use is version 1 and is probably quite poorly written in-terms of formula and logic and could be simplified also we could add in checker to ensure the data set is producing the outputs accurately and not missing out data. I have a spreadsheet that requires automation. Can you help? I have MS Excel document where it presently shows tabs for: the following types of items: headware, miscellaneous, parkas, shirts, DEU tunics, FTU tunics, DEU pants, FTU pants, DEU boots, FTU boots On each tab, the headers are: inventory ID (its a number, mostly used for me to just reorder)., Name (title of the object for ordering), description (description of item), unit price (its based on a point system, not currency, and is presently ), quantity in stock, reorder level, and quantity to reorder. When I update this sheet, I want to scream. There is too many items (809 to be exact )and simply removing an item from each section as required, is extremely time consuming. I was thinking of making the sheet have another tab where you select "issue" or "return", type in the size and then it will auto removes or add it to each items count. I would also need another tab bulk new inventory to be added in (like 25 t-shirts, size small). But I have no idea how to do so.
