Description
Experience Level: Expert
Real life personal stories wanted for a divorce website. If you have gone through a divorce or can write on behalf of someone who has, I would be keen to hear from you. I am gathering articles for a new UK community website for divorcees aimed at helping people see that there is light at the end of the tunnel - however bad the experience.
Stories can be about any aspect of your/ your subject's divorce and can be any length from 600 words upwards, written in the first person. Subjects could include:
- how you got through the immediate shock of realising the marriage was going to end.
- what divorce did to your friendships/ family relationships
- children and divorce
- going to court
- communication
- how you kept your divorce amicable
- money issues/ the financial agreement
- moving on
- getting over a very difficult divorce
- the emotional rollercoaster
- advice from your experience
I am interested in articles from men and women of all ages, in a chatty, personal writing style.
I would look to pay approx £15-20 per article but will consider higher bids from (and will prioritise) people who are happy to be identified and could supply a good quality jpeg photo of themselves. Please state in your bid if this is your intention. The idea of the website is to make people feel part of a wider community who have experienced what they're going through, so seeing faces of other real divorcees will be great for our readers.
Bids for multiple articles will also be considered if you want to write on behalf of several people of different ages/ gender/ experiences.
On the other end of the scale, if your divorce has been particularly acrimonious, I am happy for writers to remain anonymous by changing names or some particulars of the story and will publish with a stock photo.
No fixed deadline, although within a week of having the bid accepted would be nice.
Let me know if any questions. Thanks for reading and thank you in advance to any bidders.
