The purpose of the film is to inform, educate and provide additional context for medical professionals who interact with black male cancer sufferers in their work, and provide a better platform for communication and understanding with patients of this demographic.
We require the writer to attend a workshop organized by the charity with several men who will share real-life experiences that can then be amalgamated into a single story of one man. This will be performed as a first-person monologue by the lead actor.
Regarding style, we would like the script to have a naturalistic tone whilst conveying a poignant and emotional story. We’re also happy to include humorous moments where appropriate. The male lead will have a working-class, inner-city background.
Please send examples of any monologue writing with particular emphasis on emotional impact and engagement with the audience.
- Attend workshop with cancer group by September 7th. Workshop date TBC.
- 1st draft script by September 21st.
- Final script by October 5th.

where will the workshop be please? Thanks
HI there. I had previously asked a question on the original posting of this job, but that seems to have been taken down? Will you be reimbursing for travel to the workshop? For example, from Sheffield.
