Freelance Job Description & Duties:
Required Remote Writer/Marker Associate for BTEC HNC/HND Travel and Tourism Management.
Candidates preferred to have a minimum of THREE years Teaching/Assessing experience in FE/HE.
Prospective candidates should be able to:
Design and prepare whole unit assignment briefs on a wide range of HNC/HND course modules/units in Travel and Tourism Management (Likely Hospitality also). Liaise with the Owner/Principal Tutor at HRD Services, Programme leaders and Internal Verifiers, as appropriate, to ensure all coursework assignments meet the awarding body's outcomes and assessment criteria.
Assess / mark on pre-designed HRD Services format, all students' coursework including elearning portfolios and provide progress feedback to every individual/group learners.
Ensure that all coursework assessments adhere to HRD Services internal verification policy.
Communicate, if required with IV/EV's (may never happen but on accasion they may wish to email you).
Qualifications preferred:
You must have UK Bachelor degree qualification as a minimum in the relevant subject areas above (will accept from a school of business). In addition, you must have expert knowledge in BTEC/Edexcel learning assessment requirements.
Conditions & Application:
Candidates should have at least 1 years experience in setting/writing BTEC HNC/ HND Assignment Briefs or Level 5 HE Qualifications.
You must be freelance or self-employed prior to undertaking remote work.
You must generate invoices for assignment briefs written and marked and accept payment conditions of thirty days.
Candidates must clearly identify all BTEC units where they feel most confident to write/assess.
In support of your application you should submit sample of 1 assignment brief task question for at least ONE unit of your choice together with a brief model answer. Your Assignment Brief should clearly indicate that all required Pass, Merit & Distinction assessment criteria are met for your chosen unit. HRD Services will supply a template before submission if required.
Candidates must adhere to HRD Services internal verification procedures for quality assurance (what does this mean? uniformity and standardisation required on all briefs)
You must submit a CV with initial expression of interest.
Remuneration: £50 per Assignment Brief written/£35 per Assignment marked. We expect a minimum of 12 assignment briefs to be written for the HND Travel and Tourism Management and 16 for Hospitality. Additionally ongoing assignment marking will be on average 16 assignments per student enrolled on either travel and tourism or hospitality courses.
